Oil film sensor
The sensor detects the oil
film formed on the water surface due to oil outflow. The principles of
detecting the oil film on the water surface include using the change of light
reflectivity and using the substance that absorbs oil. The former uses the fact
that the surface reflectivity of the oil film to visible light is greater than
that of water, and uses a light sensor to detect the existence of the oil film.
The latter sets the substance that easily absorbs oil as a detection element on
the float. The detection element absorbs oil to increase its specific gravity
and forms an electrical switch.
